Jul 24, 2008
NEW ORLEANS, LA, JULY 25, 2008
Church Restoration Group, LLC (CRG), a local Pittsburgh based disaster restoration, construction and consulting company, was called Tuesday afternoon July 22, 2008, to a significant church fire at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, also known as St. Jude Shrine, in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Church Restoration Group was able to respond to the client’s call and have a CRG Team Member on site within 10 minutes.
CRG began mitigation services from damaged caused by the fire within an hour after the fire trucks left and released the site. Air conditioning, a crucial element in creating proper interior climate after water damage, was restored within three hours and also allowed the church to conduct evening mass.
“We contacted Church Restoration Group because of our history in working with them through restoration of properties damaged by Hurricane Katrina,” stated Cheryl Harper, Operations Manager with Catholic Mutual. “Their expertise in all areas of mitigation, clean-up and reconstruction is a great benefit in having one company come in and do all the necessary work.”
“Being able to respond this quickly to a remote location is not uncommon for us. It is what makes us unique in this business,” stated Paul Worthington, general manager for Church Restoration Group. “We strive to service our clients across the US. Having personnel in New Orleans, as well as in Florida, allows us to have the resources in the right place at the right time.”
CRG is completing work caused by Hurricane Katrina in the area and was able to respond quickly. Having worked previously with the Church and their insurance carrier, Catholic Mutual on other projects, CRG developed a trusting relationship with the company.
